Are the oregon servers really that bad?

Recently started getting back into apex, I try to play on Oregon but the ping varies anywhere from 70ms to 100ms, I live near Vancouver. Instead, playing on Iowa gives me steady 60-70ms and I've tried troubleshooting my connection (its not my internet). I get 63 ping to league of legends servers in Chicago so something is up.
