Bought new PC, got system crash and reboot

New PC reboots while playing Apex Legends

Hi, I'm trying to solve this issue, playing Apex Legends causes my computer to reboot. I thought I had fixed it by limiting FPS to 120, which helped a bit as crash is not that often but it still happens. I get black screen with the audio getting "stuck" and after 3 seconds computer reboot. I'm trying to replicate this in other games, but so far Apex Legends it's the only one getting my system to reboot.

I have already tried:

Fresh Windows Install
Replaced PSU
Reinstalled Apex
Limiting FPS

Updated BIOS to latest one
Installed Chipset drivers
Tried different Nvidia drivers "including latest one"

In event window I get EVENT ID 41 Source: Kernel-Power

I hope I can get some help, it's very hard find stuff to try in order to solve this. Thank you in advance.

System spec:

MOBO > Asus Prime X570-P
CPU > AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
MEMORY > G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8 3600MHZ (XMP)
POWER SUPPLY > Legion GX PRO 650W
VIDEO CARD > ELSA GTX 1660S
SSD > NVMe 512GB W.D black NS750 with heat sink

@BronzePl4ys Could you verify what settings you run the game in, fps, resolution, graphics etc?

Did you install all drivers correctly on your newly reinstall?
the EVENT ID 41 Source: Kernel-Power is is often caused by underpowered or a failing psu.
Could you tell me what hardware you run and what psu you have?

Have you tried to co to your Power Options > Edit plan settings > Change advanced power settings > set "turn off hard disk after" to never and "sleep after" to 0?

Verify that all your drivers are up-to-date and that your OS don't have any updates.
old drivers, faulty ram, cpu, gpu etc may cause this issue too.

  • The games trash and on a 15+ year old trash engine.. My game crashes to desktop with no error and this is the only game I own that crashes.. EA doesn't care, Respawn doesn't care, if you search for similar issues you can find post days old, months old and years old, all promising a patch or its driver related.. The fact is its a * engine with a company that cant support its user cause they don't care. The support you will get is from a tier 1 bot tech that doesn't even know how to do a fresh windows install. . There isn't a fix, the game is broken and has been. Good luck.
