Came back to find my champions and all my skins are gone

I am playing on ps5 i had previously had a good portion of the champions unlocked and some epic skins then i logged in after the game had an update and everything was set to as if i was starting fresh again I don’t know if it linked an EA account that didn't have anything on it or what happened but the loss of progress killed my want to keep playing I tried to just bite the bullet and start again but I don’t have the want or desire to re buy what I used to have 

im pretty sure PlayStation didn’t force me to have an EA account linked before that update
