Can not connect to ea servers on nintendo switch

I have downloaded and installed Apex Legends for the first time on my nintendo switch.
When I start the game and after I successfully connected my EA-Account, the game attempts to connect to the EA servers.
It prompts that there are up to 9 connection tries and after a few seconds all seem to have failed and I see a message at the bottom of the screen stating that the game is unable to connect to the ea servers.
Also the datacenters seem to be unavailable to me, as in this question: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Apex-Legends-connection-to-servers/td-p/11301447

What I've checked/tried so far:

- restart the game

- restart the nintendo switch

- check my internet connection (e.g. the youtube app on the console is working fine)
- uninstall and re-install the game

- check if the ea-account is conencted to the nintendo account (it is)
- disconnect the ea-account and connect with a fresh dummy-account
- I have the main (and only) profile on the console
- there is no youth protection active on my nintendo switch or my ea account
- the zone/language and time settings on my console are correct (Europe/Germany) and I never changed them
- Check the nintendo switch system errors for anything but there are no messages for apex

Any help is appreciated!

Best regards,

konya

  • After thinking about the issue for a while I was able to figure out my problem:
I had connected the nintendo switch to my guest-wifi, which appears to have some restrictions that stop apex legends to connect to the ea servers....
While I don't know the exact problem with the guest-wifi, connecting to my "home-network" wifi resolved the issue and the game connected successfully!

I hope this can help someone struggeling with a similar issue!
