Solved

Cannot Connect to EA Servers

This has been happening since crossplay was implemented. Only in the mornings sometimes does it load up no problem but 90% of the time, anytime during the day, it says I have no internet connection and it cannot connect to EA servers. Sometimes takes 3 hrs of troubleshooting... nothing works guaranteed.

I have all the latest updates

No issues with other apps, games, Xbox Live

My Xbox is hardwired, not on Wifi

Switched Data Center servers

Reset modem & router

Restarted Xbox

Closed game, reopened

Checked internet connection and NAT connection

Went offline and online

Signed out of EA and back on in Apex

Sometimes it will load up but I'm not able to view my friends, I have no level information or username above my Legend, just says "Player", when I try to ready up it says "Party not ready" or "Party member preloading". And sometimes it'll load up normally but I can't join lobbies or invite players to mine.

Please fix this ☹️

Just to confirm, your Xbox is wired and not on wireless, right? Also, try using alternate DNS servers. From the Xbox One home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings). From there, enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220". If that doesn't help, try using the google DNS servers which are: primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

    Hi there, @kirstiehope.

I see you reset your console, modem and router, but did you hard restart your console as well as unplug your network equipment for 2 minutes. If not, follow these steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!

  • Thank you!

Alright I held the power button for 10 seconds, unplugged the console, unplugged the router and unplugged the modem. I've waited about 3 mins, I plugged my modem in first, then my router, confirmed wifi was on and working on my phone, plugged Xbox back in, started it up by pressing the button on the console, opened Apex and still the same issue.

I don't know if this makes a difference at all, but I notice when it's first loading up, it'll give me the error message and the Data Center will say "Downoading..0" then "Downloading...504" then "Searching..." then it'll show the server (St Louis usually) so I'll try again after that but it's still the same error.

  • I got on for a few hours today just from retrying, restarting everything etc.

However I tried to get on tonight and had the same issues.

Just changed the DNS to the ones you recommended and I was able to load up right away!

Hopefully that fixes it from here on out!

    Thanks so much EA_Aljo 🙂

  • @EA_Aljo I am playing NHL19 on my Xbox series X and I have been getting the same error . Are the DNS game specific or just to connect to EA servers in general?

    Hello, @jasterdad.

Those suggested DNS settings are not game specific. If you can't connect, the first thing to try is power cycling your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!

  • I've done that. It's only on the Xbox series x.

I played on my Xbox one and I was logged in automatically. Should I log out of the one when I'm not using it?
