Cannot launch on Steam - sh_dev_utility compile error

Hello guys/girls,

I'm getting this error every time I'm starting apex Legends:

sh_dev_utility client script compile error: undefined variable

I'm using this code in the game launcher properties: +exec autoexec.cfg -high -forcenovsync +fps_max 141 -fullscreen +m_rawinput 1 +cl_showpos 1
If I remove it, my game works. But I still wanne use my movement scripts and videosettings if it's possible.

  • Have the same problem.
    Using the +reticle_color "-255 255 1255" +exec autoexec.cfg commands for launch.

  • -dev option was causing this problem . Remove it either from autoexec config of from launch options.

Yeah , for me it was both -dev and developer 1 🙂

    Thanks folks!

We've seen this as well, and as you found it appears that removing any of those -dev launch parameters should allow you to start the game normally.

That said I know a lot of players used this for various configs and will miss that, and it's something we're currently looking into.
