Community ManagerJust being on a child account shouldn't cause any issues, but in some cases there are additional restrictions under the parental controls that can cause problems when you try to match up for cross-play.
If possible, can you ask your friend to make sure his privacy settings and parental controls are set up to allow invites and cross-play?

I (XSS) can't add my son's account (PS5) as a friend. He can't add me (That is to say, we can't find each other, or if we do, invites never arrive)
My brother in law (PS4) can't add him as a friend, but we worked around this by adding him as a PSN friend and he shows up because of that.
BIL can then invite both of us to a party and my son and I can play together.
But without my BIL there's no way we can form a party.
I tried to get around this by forming a club, but neither of us can invite my son because we can't "find" him. And when BIL views him on the friends list, there's no "invite to club" option.
My son DID have a child EA account, but we've since converted to a regular account.
BIL and I are friends but I can't remember how we facilitated this, I think he was able to search my EA account name.
Happy to do whatever is needed to diagnose this issue. When BIL groups us up we're both fine, and my son and I can play the game independently with no issue.
- Just an update
I installed Origin on two different PCs and signed in my account and my son's account.
Son searched me and was able to add me as a friend.
But in my origin, after accepting his request, he didn't become my friend.
On his side he could see/message me, and I could reply, but I couldn't add him as a friend. Sending a request lead to nowhere.
I then unfriended myself on his account, and sent him a friend request - he accepted it, and now we're both friends. Pretty strange.
Unable to check if that helps in-game currently, but my fingers are crossed.
Probably doesn't help us being unable to add him to our Club, either. - EA_Kent

I have this problem too, im on a switch and my friend is on xbox. He can add me but i dont recieve it and i cant find him.

What happens if you try to send the invite from your side? Does it work that way, or are you still running into the same issue?/Kent
I cant find them. So now I'm trying to log in through my xbox acount on which im friends through xbox but i cant log in
Also, if I try to add them through a party (That our mutual friend made) i still cant.

I'm not, and I'm 99% sure they aren't.
All you ask about is the child restricted account thing, neither mine(ps4)or my friends(xbox) account is child locked or has parental controls on, we both have open cross play ability on, cant add him or see his name when searched and he can search me but the invite never goes through. If theres any soulution someone help please

I am trying to play crossplay with friends in my club, but for some reason my crossplay setting tab is greyed out and I cannot toggle it. I have fixed the settings on my xbox to allow crossplay, but for some reason Apex is not allowing it. You know the answer?
