I fixed it !
I gave my internet provider a call told them about this and got a new router (from technicolor to arris).
since i've got the new device thisx problem never reoccoured!
Most of the time it's the type of router that blocks you from matchmaking apparently
@DarkRydaa that.... is not even remotely accurate. Your type of internet, device, router, or whatever else you decide to add/change is not going to stop you from matchmaking ONLY IF YOU QUEUE SOLO but allow squad fill just fine..... DNS, ip conflicts, firewall settings, connection settings could stop you from being able to connect altogether, but in no way can differentiate between IN game settings.

Yeah, I doubt the router thing will work for me since my account has this problem but my kids’ don’t, even on the same computer.
I will say thanks about the Virginia mention though - I hadn’t tried that region since the ping is above what I usually consider acceptable… but for whatever reason Virginia 1 is working consistently when I can’t get into a game anywhere further west.
