Cant find crossplay friends

Hi I’ve managed to play with my children by setting up a club, but when I try sending a friend request it still doesn’t go through.
Also when I look at my sons Xbox it shows I’m online but when I view the club on the PS5 it shows he’s offline ???
how can I sort this problem?
