There is one Solution for Windows, as im not sure how this would be changed on Console.
Make sure Windows Sound Enhancer is turned off & your output format isn't to high.
Changing it down to a lower Hz will fix the problem without you having to restart your game. Having a Hz rate higher than the game can handle will effect your audio in game, and on other media.
If you're also playing on boarderless-windowed mode: Don't.
Always Play on Fullscreen Native to your Resolution for the best quality performance out of Apex Legends.

This issue has been know for years now, when some sound emitting event is outside of player POV it does not play any sound but as soon as You turn Your POV in the direction of it You start to hear the sounds or footsteps...
I have been posting examples of such issues for months now - nothing has been done to resolve these issues. More, the Respawn at some point responded that they "can't reproduce this in they lab environment" laughable response.
