Can't play on the same router (Xbox)

I recently moved in with my girlfriend, and we can't seem to connect to games together while our Xboxes are connected to the same router.

-This problem ONLY occurs in Apex Legends. We've tested other games like COD and Deep Rock Galactic, even Titanfall 2, and joining lobbies and matchmaking works without any issues.

-The router should be decent, and the connection as well. It's a D-link DIR-809 router with a 150mb/s download speed and 100mb/s upload speed.

-We can't get IpV6 connection to work because our connection is fiber. This really shouldn't be the solution though as other games work fine with the current NAT types etc
-We've tried portforwarding and "reserving" places for the static IP addresses of the Xboxes from the router settings, and toggling UPnP on and off, from both router and the PC.
-We've called our broadband operator for advice, which they couldn't give. They said it was peculiar that the issue only occurs in one game instead of all of them. They suggested to contact customer service etc of the game itself, as if that was a very realistic option.

Does anyone have any sort of a reliable fix for this? And please, if you do have answers, try to write some sort of a simple step-by-step guide with some simple English. We're not native English speakers and I'm not very knowledgeable with the jargon when it comes to networking...

Such an annoying issue. I've tried to look for information about this online, and it all seems very scattered and inconsistent, some weird thing working for a person or two and not doing anything for the rest. I'd appreciate any advice. We just want to play together ☹️

Thanks for the response. Try clearing the alternate MAC address on both systems with the following steps:

    Go to your Xbox Settings
Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"

If that doesn't help, try using alternate DNS settings with these instructions. From the Xbox home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings). From there, enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220". If that doesn't help, try using the google DNS servers which are: primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

    Hello, @Theetinman87 and @MunsTheFool

UPnP is often the cause of this. Make sure it's enabled. Also, check the NAT setting on both consoles. This is displayed when you look at the network settings. If it says Strict, this needs to be changed on your router to either Open or Moderate. Let me know what happens. Thanks!

  • My Unpn is usually on I just tried disabling it to see if that might work since some people recommended it. My NAT on both Xbox’s is set to open.

  • No they are not, we each have different  ea accounts. We moved recently and at our previous house we could play together, now we can’t. I tried all the tricks in the book to get it to where we could play together again and nothing has worked, disabling enabling upnp hardwiring one of them, port forwarding (my router doesn’t have port triggering) static ip, manually changing ip addresses on each Xbox.

    @Theetinman87

Are you still using the same networking equipment from your previous house or did that change with the move?

  • I am using different equipment than previously, I was using fiberoptic before but now we are not.
