Cross Plat Lobby Game Chat Not Working

Can not hear friends in cross plat chat lobby. I am trying to play with a friend who is on ps4 i am on xbox. but i can not hear him in the lobby. it shows his mic, that he is speaking, but i can not...

I'm on PC and starting yesterday, both using the Steam and the Origin launcher, I can no longer voice chat in the lobby at all. Not cross platform either, just PC -> PC. I restart my computer every day and I've been using the same headset for 3 seasons with no issue until a couple of days ago
