Cross-progression help

Hello, a returning player here needing help from a community manager after recommendation from a support agent. I have not played this game in years and was hoping to get back into it.

I have an account on Xbox that I have quite a high level, amount of skins, and money put into that I would love to bring over to PC.

I launched the game today on PC (again for the first time in years, before cross-progression existed). I received nothing from my Xbox though it brought up that it would link both accounts.

I played Apex when it released on console under a different EA account. I have since needed to use a new one. According to the support agent I linked my xbox account to this EA account on Jan 22 2024.

I am told that because I linked the account 4 months late. They were unable to transfer anything.

So I ask, is there anything that can be done to receive the progression from my xbox account? I have not touched the game since probably middle of 2023 on PC and probably since 2019/20 on console. If I hadn't needed to change EA accounts this never would have happened.

I appreciate any assistance!

Thank you so much for the assistance and clarification!

I'll test my luck with merging and if that doesn't work I'll just try the old account.

Accounts can be merged, but when it comes to the progression on those accounts, it becomes tricky.

According to this article: [EA Help] - What to do if you've accidentally made a second EA Account

So in this case data will not be moved from one account to the other, so I believe it depends on the way you merge it.
They could potentially merge the newer account into the older one, meaning you won't have the data from the new account but keep the data from the older account and vice versa.

Though since I don't know this 100% sure, I think your best bet is to contact EA in this case.
For this specifically you can use the link mentioned in the article I posted before, or you can go to it directly via this link: [EA Help] - I want to move my stuff to another account - EA Account

Hopefully that clears up the confusion, if you have any further questions, ask away!

That makes more sense. Thank you for the explanation.  I will have to see if logging into my old account will work sometime this week.

I believeyou already answered this however, do you know if EA can merge the two accounts? I've read some articles from EA saying yes, and others that say no. The ones that say yes just say to contact customer support.

  • Heya DeadPhoenix196

Data/Progress attained by playing games is stored directly on the EA Account.
This means that if you play on a platform account (e.g. Steam, Xbox) that the progress you make whilst playing on that platform, will be stored under the EA Account and not the platform account.

This means that if you relink your Xbox account, that it wouldn't bring over any progress, as this would be stored on the EA Account it was originally connected to.

If I'm correct, the data should still be stored under the EA Account your Xbox account was originally linked to. You can access your old progress by making use of that EA Account.
There is no way to transfer data from one EA Account to another, so the only place where you can access that progress is on that EA Account that your Xbox account was originally linked to.

This can be done by logging in with that EA Account on PC, or by using a platform account connected to that EA Account.
