Cross Progression reset account

Dear EA Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to request your urgent assistance with a critical issue I’ve encountered concerning my account’s cross-progression status. Recently, I received a notification to merge my accounts from PlayStation to my PC Steam account. Upon completing this process, I was dismayed to discover that my account had been reset to level 1.

Remarkably, the only item that remained was the Lifeline’s Guardian Angel skin, which I had acquired through the purchase of a physical copy of the game. However, all my heirlooms, cosmetics, and other in-game assets appear to have been lost. To compound the issue, when I attempted to access my console account post-merge, I found it too had been reset.

I have previously reached out to EA help on multiple occasions regarding this matter but have yet to find a resolution. Given the significant impact of this issue on my gaming experience, I am earnestly seeking your guidance and support to recover my account to its original state, including all earned and purchased items.

I understand the complexities involved in managing such requests, but I am hopeful for a favorable resolution. Please advise on the next steps or any additional information required from my side to facilitate the recovery process.

Thank you for your time and understanding. I look forward to your prompt response.

    Hey @crashnburn1250,

Just taking a quick look over the account here, I am seeing the PlayStation account seems to have been unlinked right about the time of our Cross Progression announcement last year. I am seeing it was later linked back to the account, do you recall when that was or what happened with the unlink originally?

As far as the Steam account, it looks like that was only recently connected to this particular EA account, so any progress you had there wouldn't be carried over from whichever EA account it was linked to prior. You would need to re-link that Steam account to its original EA account to try recovering the progress there.

Yes this is correct. I tried linking it to the steam account in hopes of it working on steam. So I need to un link and re link my steam account to my original psn account? I originally had done it through the EA app but nothing had happened that’s when I went the steam route.

To be a bit more specific, progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress.

This progress also cannot be transferred between EA accounts, so if you had that progress on separate accounts originally, there would not be a way to merge or transfer it over.

You would need to re-link the Steam account to the original EA account it was on when you made your progress there. Both Steam and PSN would have been linked to an EA account to access Apex, so it would be a matter of figuring out which EA account was used in each case and linking it back to try restoring any progress. There is a chance the progress is lost whenever you unlink an account, so re-linking to the original account would be the only way to try recovering access.

Currently all EA accounts are linked to the correct accounts. And still nothing. I cannot unlink my psn account until 4/23 according to my connections tab on my EA account. Are you suggesting when available to unlink and relink? I’m sorry I just want all my stuff back.

    @crashnburn1250

Sorry, I think there's some misunderstanding here.

Your Steam account was linked to this EA account very recently. This is not the original EA account for Steam, so it will not be possible to have any progress from that Steam account show up here. Unlinking and relinking to this same account will do nothing as it's not the original EA account.

You would need to figure out which EA account it was linked to before this one and move it back there instead to try regaining access to whatever content you had while playing on Steam. It won't be possible to move that progress to this EA account.

Please take a look at our guides, specifically the information about multiple EA accounts, as that's the situation you're experiencing and why it won't be possible to merge your progress.

If you have any issues re-linking your accounts please reach out to support so they can help get your platform account back to its original EA account.

Yes I did it recently because my progress was not showing up on my original account I linked it with that had all my psn cosmetics, heirlooms, and coins. And now anytime I go back to my original account before cross progression came out on my console that account has been reset to lvl 1 with nothing on it.

It’s looking like it’s pretty grim for me to get any of my stuff back.
