Frequent Crashes on PS5 (Apex Legends)

Apex Legends is frequently crashing on PS5 with error code CE-108255-1. The crash can happen anywhere, in menus, lobby, firing range, in a match etc. and can happen while performing any action. When the crash happens the game freezes for a few seconds, the application closes, the error report screen of Playstation 5 pops up and after that I return to the console's dashboard from where I could relaunch the app and try to reconnect to my previous game (and play for a few more seconds or minutes before it happens again). I have tried playing other games on PS5 with no issues and this appears to be the only game crashing for me and exhibiting that behavior. I would like to know if a stability patch is on the way to fix this or if there is communication with Sony for further optimization of Apex Legends on PS5. Due to this issue, Apex Legends has been unplayable for me on the PS5. I know people who have no issues with this particular game on PS5 but I also know others who have the same issue as well. I look forward to finding a solution to this issue.

    Thanks for giving it a shot. I think it might be best to reach out to PlayStation Support to see if they have any other recommendations on ways to fix this error message. You can find more information on how to reach them over at the PlayStation Support website

    I realized that as well, see many games like Fortnite and call of duty have different companies. So when I play apex as of now, season 19 it’s been crashing and freezing and I did all the steps from the code error and it has solved nothing, it’s just the game itself. I’ve been able to play Fortnite with some of my friends fine but with apex ever since the update it just crashes on me

    Okay man I think I found a solution so if you go to your ps5 and keep in mind you have to turn off your ps5 completely, instead of going into safe mode and rebuild your database your going to clear cache basically is just going to erase like the extra ps5 space that it doesn’t use, so go into safe mode and delete cache and then turn your ps5 on and delete apex and get it back again and wait and then go in on it again it worked for me just now

    I don’t know how to fix it man I really don’t know man sorry I’ve tried everything it’s just up ea to fix there own product 

  • SO I found the fix you have to contact ps5 and if You have a Mac or pc you have to install the update file in order for this to work and you also need a usb drive format fat32, from there you want to create a folder that says “PS5” on your Mac and inside that folder make a new folder that says “UPDATE”, from there you want to drag the update file into the update folder and you then want to drag everything so the main folder with the update folder “PS5” into your usb drive from there it will load or copy into the drive and once it’s done your going to have to go and turn off your ps5 and then go to safe mode; press the power button until you hear two beeps and then click the option on the ps5 where it says to update system software. From there get the usb and connect it in the back of your ps5 and if it doesn’t work it’s because you messed up on the file names, KEEP IN MIND THAT THE FILE NAMES HAVE TO BE CAPITALIZED!!! It should work if you download the latest software update from the PlayStation website.

    This has been happening since the newest season update. I re-downloaded the game to see if the problem was fixed but as soon as I picked up a weapon my screen went black and my ps5 restarted 20 seconds later.

  • I never played season 7 but I definitely plated season 6 and had no issues I’m curious s to why not this is happening and it is insane to moment you get into a Lobby it crashes and continues to crash consistently, unfortunately until EA begins to lose money from this bug they will not investigate or fix it. Just find a new game to play until the season is over and hope that they fixed it, that’s my best advice play something like Path Of Exile really good ARPG and can be very time consuming. No use crying over spilled milk ladies and gentlemen, just occupy your time somewhere else maybe even with some calisthenics or the gym. I do hope all gets solved soon but in the meantime happy holidays and best of luck!
