Game + PC crashing, GPU and CPU @ max usage
Hey guys, I've had some issues with crashing. Initially, I was experiencing issues with running the game fullscreen, and would crash with the error message of: Engine Error - 0x887A0006 - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG The application's device failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed. After investigating fixes for that on other threads, I just disabled fullscreen, swapped to windowed borderless, and stop encountering that specific error. However, after switching I started having different issues. When I'm tabbed into the game, while I'm in lobby or in a match, both my CPU and GPU are being maxed by the process regardless of the area I'm in. This has lead to crashing with no error message, or my entire computer crashing. I've followed the crashing troubleshoot thread, and read through a lot of threads with similar issues, but none of the solutions I've found have worked.
This issue occurred as of today, with no windows updates, or further driver updates, and was running perfectly fine last night in both fullscreen and borderless windowed mode. I also haven't experienced any issues with other games as well.
PC specs:
OS: Windows 10 Pro Build 17134
Motherboard: MS-7917 ( MSI Z97 GAMING 5 )
Intel(R) Core i7-4790 CPU @ 4.00 GHz
32 GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX 980
If I overlooked anything else that's relevant, let me know and I'll post those as well.
Further details: All of my in game settings are minimum, and I've capped my fps via the launcher. My temperature has been fine, I've attempted to verify the game files, and reinstall the game with no success. I do have the Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller network card, but no control center or anything else killer related. My confusion mainly stems from the fact that I've been running the game with no issues for 120 hours prior to this issue. Sorry for the lengthy post, I just wanted to make sure I included enough details because I'm very confused as to what the issue is and how to proceed with a fix.
