Hello everyone, I've just finished downloading Apex on Steam and ran into this "r5apex.exe - Application Error (0xc0000005)" message. I've tried running compatibility tests, verified game files, and repaired AntiCheat, but to no avail. I've also made Apex an exception in Windows Firewall, and in my antivirus, but still won't work. I'm running on Win10, and all my drivers are up to date.
Hey @Shummy66,
This error is generally tied to another program or process interfering with the game.
Making sure you've added the game as an exception in both Windows Firewall and your antivirus is typically the best bet, however since that doesn't seem to have done the trick in this case it may be worth a full clean boot of your system.
That should let you try running this without any other unnecessary processes in the background to help narrow down what may be causing the issue.

Hello Mako, I've tried a clean boot of my system and the error still shows.. 😢

We were told it would be fixed before the new season, now there is a major update and it's still not fix. Many of us have spent lots of money on this game and to have no response or help from Respawn is ridiculous. We need a formal response and a Hot-Fix update today!

FWIW even the Windows Troubleshooting tool identifies r5apex.exe as "incompatible"; I've tried running it through the Troubleshooter using different Windows compatibility settings (e.g., Windows 7, 8, Vista, 10, etc.) but none work.

Apex is working for me again. I'm not sure if it's something I did (if so, it was possibly updating my version of Windows 10 ... although it's hard to say given how much I was doing) or if they patched it. But I'm happy to be playing.
To be clear, I've tried literally everything on this thread. The only thing I did differently today:- Updated my Windows 10 to the Nov 2021 version
- Used Event Viewer - Administrator Events (thanks to @Nasty_Oppa for the idea to use it) to systematically identify devices / drivers in need of update and update them or settings in need of adjustment.
Again, it could be EA fixed the game. And it could be I will crash any moment. But for now it's working.
Edit - I had the 55 second no error crash issue, not the EAC issue.

Hey I fixed it for one day and then this 1 minnute crash came back over night and I don't want to do this every day just to play 1-3 hours apex any tips?
Yup, mine was fixed for like, a week. Now it is happening again. With all the cheaters and smurfs. I'm not even sure I can be bothered to continue with it crashing most games. My wife also crashes within a 30 seconds of me. That heavily points at a game / server problem.
