Game freezes every few seconds w/ MSI 1660 Ti

Hello,

I recently upgraded my pc by getting a MSI 1660 Ti, before I had a 660 Ti and could run the game on the lowest settings perfectly fine. After upgrading though I have had this problem where in the main screen and in game the audio and game freezes for 1 second and then works fine for about 10-20 seconds and then freezes again (ongoing cycle). I have tried a clean boot, re-installed the game, and have also tweaked some nvidia settings. So far nothing has helped, at the moment though every other game works fine in ultra settings, so I am at a loss for what to do. Pls help

@Habuki13 Hey, when you upgraded did you remove the old graphics drivers fully? Sometimes folks can get away with just swapping hardware and updating drivers, but sometimes there are weird issues.

    Thanks.

  • I think the 1660Ti is a great card to have.. In game try to set the texture streaming budget to 3gb.. Disable origin overlay it might help a bit.. Dont use nvidia gaming experience or set custom settings for apex in control panel
  • First off thanks for the speedy replies. Secondly, I did delete all the old drivers from my computer and if not why would it only affect apex legends. Also I have tried setting the games graphics to the lowest possible and that still didn't help. I have also recently reset my settings in nvidia in case I messed with something I shouldn't have and that did not show any signs of helping. This happened after changing my graphics card but maybe it has something to do with another component in my computer. I have been searching for a week now and have yet to find a fix.

  • Can you post some specs or a dxdiag.txt? Removing old driver you need to use DDU uninstall in safe mode

Here is my dxdiag. If any other info may help just ask me and I will post it. Thanks

  • Is the game located on ssd? Make sure samsung write cache is enabled and rapid mode is disabled.. I would also turn off automatic page size by windows and only dedicate about 8-12gb of virtual memory to ur ssd.. Disable integrated graphics/intel speedstep/turboboost in the bios and overclocking u might run into issues.. Ram also needs to be at proper timings

I tried the game late last night and it worked absolutely fine. I am very surprised because I haven't tried anything recently to try to fix it. This was after the dxdiag reply but before your response about what to change. I'm sorry you had to go through all that trouble. I have yet to try it again but if any further problems arise I will instantly come back to this page to post about it. Thanks for the help and is there anyway to figure out what changed so I can post it in case it is a solution?
