Gifting Issue PS5

I’ve been attempting to gift the the battle pass to a friend on PS5 and im having a few issues. I now know that you need to be friends through apex, not sony, to be able to gift and receive gifts. I’d be fine with that if the battle pass didnt end in one week, meaning i cant gift my friend this seasons pass. Is there any way to work around this at all?
