Unfortunately, I don't have a tangible solution like you asked, but wanted to let you know that I also have xfinity (1gig down speeds) and ONLY get packet loss in apex. I'm in the exact same situation, done probably every single trouble shooting method available, including the ones you've listed, had my ISP send people out to run tests and be confused because nothing was wrong, even bought a new fancy router thinking that was the problem. All with no fix. Some days its manageable (4-10% loss on every server with fine ping) some days its worse at around 15%. Today however has been the absolute worst of them all, with minimum 25% loss and feeling totally unplayable in game with the stats showing up to 0/45 loss, met with constant noregs and stuttering. I have no idea what to do anymore because everyone everywhere says the user is at fault somehow but am finding it really hard to believe after this just started happening around February (with no changes to my setup at all and being fine in previous years). If EA could do something rather then telling me to power cycle my router or use google DNS, that would be great because they're about to lose day 1 players as it seems i'm not the only one with this problem.
PS: every thread i have read saying a person had problems with packet loss and it being fixed said they just got lucky and it magically went away one day.
Yes. Still in the same boat.
After having multiple different techs come out, including a tier 3 tech; everyone says the connection was good to the home and modem, and there was nothing wrong...
I even went as far as renting a modem/router from my ISP Xfinity to see if it would fix it; and I still experience packet loss ONLY in apex.
Would love some clarity here.
I have 800mbps speeds and no one is on the network actively when I am consistently experiencing these apex packet loss issues.
Network monitoring shows that there is limited to no network activity on my network to suggest the bandwidth is being used.
I use a tool called DNS Jumper to flush my DNS multiple times between game restarts to temporarily fix the packet loss issue;
but i think it's safe to say this is an EA / Respawn thing, considering many people experiencing the same thing.
- We would love an EA / Respawn export to look into this please.
Everything has been done from
- techs
- good hardware + reports
- new ISP compatible modems
- new ISP compatible routers
- port forwarding
- Manual DNS + frequent flushing (google, open dns, cloudflare, ISP, etc)
- game verification (steam)
- QOS (enabled and disabled)
- IPv4 & 6
- Multiple Cat8 cables (third party tested for connection & quality)
- updated all drivers & OS updates
- VPNs (nord & express)
- Wtfast
- new coaxial cable
- new fitting
- 2 years ago@Enlight369 This has been happening to me as well for about two weeks now. Traceroutes show issues at their data centers, so it's something they or their ISP will need to investigate and resolve. I hope soon because it's unplayable in the current state. On the bright side, I have a superpower of knowing when other players are near because I will get packet loss spikes lol.
Super unfortunate that preseason qualifiers are starting on Saturday and i'm really worried that this won't be resolved by then.- 2 years ago
Still happening for me :/
8-14%+ packet loss on every server...
Hello EA / Respawn? Can you hear us?
I even paid for a Modem/Router/Gateway direct from my ISP to minimize confusion, and the problem still persists.
Had a higher tier tech come by and analyze everything. All connection to the home is good and solid.- 2 years ago
Its not you.
You cannot fix this. Just go through the forums and you'll see, there are a lot of people with connectivity issues. EA does not care.
Only way to fix this is to stop playing EA Franchised games. Its a shame, love apex too. I only am partially able to play it through a VPN. But I am finding myself VPN Server hopping every other night in hopes of finding one with which i am not teleporting through KC.
