Help on switching Nintendo Switch profile linked to EA account

Hi all, I’ve been tackling this issue for months now but decided to revisit this issue again in hopes of finding a solution. I’ve made a recent case which was said to be escalated but noticed that it wasn’t updated in the past two days, so I got nervous. Anyways, my EA account on ‘connections’ shows that the Nintendo account linked under the Nintendo network is a different account than what I’m trying to play on. In simpler terms, I’m trying to play Apex under my main Nintendo profile, Dillion, but when I sign in, the game says:

“Your accounts can't be linked because the EA Account for dy*****@gmail.com is already linked to the following Nintendo accounts: fortGiant3

The Apex game seems to only work with the fortGiant3 profile rather than my personal profile, Dillion. The main concern is that I don’t want to u link Nintendo Network from my EA account, I simply want to change the profile under the console/platform linked to my ea account. I don’t mind having things deleted as long as I can play the game on the right profile (since I didn’t spend on apex).

wrong profile: fortGiant3

wanted profile: Dillion

    Hey there,

To be able to link a new Nintendo Switch account to your EA Account, you would need to unlink the unwanted account to then link the one you want to use. However, there are some restrictions to account linking. You can learn more here:

Unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account

Linking your platform accounts to your EA Account

As you mentioned you don't mind starting over as long as you have the correct account to play on, you could possibly create a brand new EA Account and link your Nintendo Switch account there, that would solve your problem. If you want to use the email from the old EA Account on the new account, you can change emails on your accounts by following the steps here: How to update your EA Account

    I hope this helps!

  • Thanks for the information. I was wondering if I could just delete my ea account since it has my only personal email and then just create another fresh ea account with the same email BUT this time link it to the right switch profile/account. Could that work? Since I only have one email which is currently used on this account.
P.S., if i unlinked my switch account on my ea account, then chose to link again, would it automatically link the same Nintendo account?

    Thanks.

You can delete your EA account if you wish to. I would encourage you to read this article before deleting the account to understand the risks and how to make a request to delete it: How can I delete my EA Account? Once you've made your decision you can follow the steps on the article to request an Account Deletion.

If your Nintendo Switch account is currently linked to an EA Account, I'd suggest keeping it linked to avoid any data/progress you've made so far. In case you only need to update the account details and need some assistance with that, please feel free to contact EA Help Support
