If you already have an existing EA Account connected with Steam you should just need to log into Origin with that EA Account. Your game progress for Apex Legends would still be there. Have you had the chance to finish installing the game through Origin? Is your game progress there?

I had the same problem but found my origin account and it worked, but there's another problem that my item shop is unavaible and i cant buy apex coins or buy from featured shop.
