Oh, so would there be no way to get the data stored on that account to a new one? 

My issue is that if I hadn't changed my account, my brother's account would have been merged into mine since we used the same email when we made our accounts.

Correct, it would not be possible to transfer a platform account to a different EA account without losing the game data.

    Does this mean that if I try to link my account back to the other one, they will just merge?
