I want to ask about apex account on steam

I have an origin account that I used to play apex and I linked it with a steam account, we can call it steam account A. I unlink steam account A with my origin account one month ago. Then I want to link it with another steam account called steam account B. But when I tried to link steam account B with my EA account, I was informed that because I just unlinked a steam account with my origin account, I need to wait for six months to link a new steam account. So I called an EA adviser, and he helped me to link my origin account with steam account B, which I don't need to wait for six months. However, my steam account B was compromised recently. Although I got it back finally, I am still afraid that steam account B is not safe anymore. So I want to unlink my steam account B with my origin account and never link the origin account with the steam anymore. But my friend told me that because steam account B is force-linked and ignored the six-month rule, I can not unlink it by myself. If I do so, I will be lost all my loot in apex. I wonder if he's right?

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to work that way. You can unlink a platform account from EA Account A and link to EA Account B without the six month restriction. You'd run into the restriction if you tried unlinking a different platform account from EA Account A within 6 months. So if you had two different platform accounts on EA Account A, you would only be able to remove one of them without waiting 6 months.

Hey @5uper_5ensitive,

In order to play Apex Legends in Steam it would need to be connected with an EA Account. If you were to unlink the Steam account from your EA Account, the next time you try playing Apex Legends it's going to ask you to connect it with an EA Account.

As far as your game progress, you shouldn't actually lose anything by unlinking a Steam account. Since your progress on Steam is the same progress as what you would have in Origin, it should still be there on your account.

Hey @EA_Kent,
Thanks for your reply. I just called an EA advisor and he told me that if I unlink my EA account with my steam account, I will lose all my game progress. I'm confused now

It works that way for other platform accounts like PlayStation or Xbox, but as far as I know the same thing wouldn't happen for Steam. Your account progress matches up for Steam and Origin, unlike the console platforms.

Last question.
There is a rule: "once you unlink a platform account from your EA Account and link it to a new one, you cannot unlink it again for six months." However, my steam account B has not obeyed this rule. It linked with my EA account one day after I unlinked steam account A. It's an exception, so I want to make sure that no accidents happen. So I want to make sure that steam account B that didn't obey six months rules, unlinking won't let me lose my progress and skins in apex, right?

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you unlinked it from two different EA Accounts?

No, it's two different steam accounts, one EA account. The EA account was unlinked with steam account A and linked with steam account B within six months.
