Input reading issues

Hey, I really couldn't find any fix or start of a clue for this, sometimes it stops reading my forward input so my character stops and I have to release and hold W again to move again. Really problematic in the middle of a fight. It's happening only in Apex, I can play CS or any game for hours without having this problems at all so keyboard isn't the problem here. It seems to happen most of the time after a slide. Also this only started in season 4 I believe. I tried resetting keybinds to default but it didn't help, same for repairing the game from origin or removing launch options.

I have absolutely 0 idea or things I can think of to fix it so it would be nice if anyone could help !
Thanks.

  • Got it, thanks!

Looking at the diagnostics in the DxDiag the only thing that really jumped out was a fault with microsoft.windows.immersivecontrolpanel. I'm wondering if this might be related somehow if Windows settings are getting corrupted or damaged.

When you've got a chance could you try running the Windows System File Checker to see if that helps at all? If there is a corrupted system file that might be related that could help with this. You can find more details on how to run it over at the Microsoft Support website .

Let me know how that goes when you have a chance.

    Hi @ivhen2

When you have a chance could you grab a DxDiag and share it here so we can take a look? For more info on how to pull one up check out the EA Help website

Once you have the file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!

    Hi Kent,

Here's my dxDiag report, since last time I reinstalled  the game and tried to use my keyboard through PS/2 instead of USB but the problem kept happening, even though it seems to be a lot less frequent. This is really strange ^^

I don't think it says in the report but my keyboard is a Leopold FC900R.

    Hey !

I ran the test and it fixed some corrupted windows files, so far I played for about 45 minutes or so but I didn't get the input reading issue a single time so this is looking really good ^^

I linked the CBS log if you want to see it.

Thanks a lot for your help this might be it !

    Thanks for following up!

I'm glad to hear it's been working better for you now. Hopefully it doesn't start happening again, but if it does feel free to give us a shout here. 👍
