Link to new steam account

I have unbound my previous steam account, it has been almost a year, why can't I bind a new steam account? I have already contacted the association with the old account in the EA link.

  • Hey @CFAMiguel,

If you look at our unlinking article:

When you link accounts, it creates a lifetime link to protect you from malicious activity and help prevent performance issues in your games.

You can unlink your platform accounts from your EA Account if you want to link them to a different EA Account, as long as that EA Account has never had the same account type linked to it before in its lifetime.

That means if you unlink an Xbox gamertag from your EA Account, you can’t link a different Xbox gamertag to it in the future.

Unfortunately this means that it's not possible to link a second Steam account, but you can always relink the old one again.

Oh, yes, thank you. I did not read the relevant regulations carefully before. Thank you for your reply. I would like to ask if I can use a human service to help me, because my previous steam account is at risk of being hacked

  • But assuming you were to relink the old account, you would still lose all in game purchases (cosmetics, etc.) as it is tied to the "new" ea account made correct? i have tried multiple times with ea live chat to get a direct answer and they do not seem to understand so maybe here will help.

i read the article about "merging ea accounts"

Can I merge my EA Accounts?

We’d love to help you merge your accounts into one with all your games on it, but it isn’t always easy.

All of the data (including saves and achievements) you’ve got on your account is stored in our cloud. The cloud is linked to your EA Account. If you move a game from one account to another, you’ll be able to play the game, but the data still stays linked to the other EA Account, and so do your cloud saves.

You can’t move your games or platform accounts to another account yourself. If you decide to merge your accounts, get in touch with us

that lead me to believe that i just need to have them merge the accounts and i wouldnt lose anything but then after asking multiple times they send a disclaimer that i would lose all of one of the accounts (thousands spent between both) which is unacceptable, so i did not confirm the merge,  i tried to link a steam account to the ea account with my ps5 data on it but i apparently linked the steam with my PC data on it previously before i made a separate ea account for it at some point.
