I have the exact same problem as these two and I'm sure many others do to. This is unacceptable and turning it on us saying it is our fault that some obscure EA chat told us not to, which I couldn't even find. I had to find it through a YouTube video description. This needs to be fixed or at least addressed as an issue being solved.
For getting in contact with EA support could you detail a way to find the contact options (not just send the link).
I'm also a day one player but have lost an that account in the past, I am not losing another to some issue that we weren't even told about.
Follow the link, then choose Apex Legends under Game Support, and then the topic "I want to move my game progress to another account", as this is the most fitting for your issue. This will give you the option to contact support.

Thank you for the quick response. I've since sent through and email detailing my issue.
I hope this can be addressed and fixed ASAP because I do not want to just lose everything.
