I know on PC microphone has a threshold in audio options, and id like to assume console does as well, make sure the threshold for the mic is not to low.
If the threshhold is fine and the microphone is not detecting anything at all:
Xbox control settings may have put your mic into mute. Check any and all audio settings in relation to your profile (Change settings back to default if need be / if applicable)
For good measure, make another profile and boot up apex & go to firing range to test it.
