Mouse Lag While Streaming.

So, I've had like a billion different issues with Apex Legends. I've experienced weird and random crashes, sound issues, lag and all sorts of things. I have managed to solve, reduce and improve many of these things and nowadays, I'm actually able to play several matches in a row without a single crash. That's obviously good, but I have encountered another problem...

I can play Apex Legends just fine as long as I'm not streaming. I did stream Apex Legends for several days when it launched, and I never had any problems until about a week ago. A week ago, my mouse started to get these weird lags. It's hard to describe, but it's like my sensitivity goes down to 0.01 or something for a few seconds and back to my 3.0 again. Back and forth. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's extremely annoying and it seems to happen whenever I move my mouse "a lot" in a short time frame. The more I move my mouse, the more input lag or strange behaviour.

My mouse doesn't seem to keep up with my movement whenever I stream Apex nowadays, but it worked great until a week ago. I've even bought a new mouse, even though I knew that my hardware was okay... And I still have the same problems. I've never had this issue before, until about a week ago, and I've never experienced anything similar in any other game. I can stream a bunch of other games without any problems and whenever I turn my stream off, when I play Apex, I can play without these issues.

I've tried to find a solution for this, but I haven't been able to find one. I have tried all of these different "performance" tweaks out there and my game is running just fine as long as I don't stream. I use OBS.

My hardware, even though it doesn't matter in this scenario:

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz
RAM: HyperX 32GB DDR4
GRAPHICS: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB

MOUSE: Razer Deathadder Elite

  • Hey @EviLDoLLTV, Thanks for all the information and details on. A quick question have you tried other streaming software?

And turned off any other Overlay outside of OBS?

  • Hello,
I've been able to solve this. I don't know why it doesn't work all of a sudden, when it worked without issues earlier... However, I solved this by lowering my CPU Preset in OBS from Faster to Very Fast. Funny thing is that I've been able to stream without issues running "Faster" in OBS multiple times before, but since the mouse issues appeared, I haven't been able to play a single game without the issue. Until I lowered the CPU Preset that is.

    Cheers.

  • Hey @EA_Atic !

A friend of mine has this issue, so I wanted to ask has solution been found yet?

I've checked your response and he does not use Overlays and there is no point in him trying to use other streaming platform, if this only happens with Apex. He is using OBS and will continue to use it.

Don't get me wrong, not being arrogant here, just saying streaming and setting up all the stuff on different streaming platform just to play Apex is a no no.

Let me know if you guys have any solutions.
