There are some problems with this method...
One i dont even have a local file under apex legends... I think that might be because i am using steam, however i want to keep using steam as i do not wish to lose my files and progress in the game...
Also, I cant even get any options for surround 7.1.... Ive gone into the control panel under spatial sound... the only option i have is Off.

I was looking under my apex folder and i did find one folder called audio --> ship
