OBS not capturing apex in DX12

Hi,

I've recently made the move to DX12 because of its performance. However, when I try to capture gameplay with OBS's game capture, I get nothing but a black screen.

I was using the "capture a specific window" option with the apexdx12 exe selected, still nothing. I tried running OBS as admin, still nothing.

When I fired up the DX11 version of the game, it hooked immediately and game capture was working as normal.

As mentioned earlier, DX12 has way better performance for me (using 40% less GPU) so I'd obviously prefer to use DX12 when I'm streaming.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

I was able to get it working. My fix was closing afterburner and RTSS, then restarting apex. @Midnight9746

Previous to this, I had tried running OBS as admin, and a few of the other typical fixes. Still not sure why this was never an issue w DX11 Apex, but oh well. Probably some random buginess.

  • @Noomro Do you have any other option to capture, such as "capture any full screened applications", and have you tried running OBS in admin mode?
  • @Noomro Have you been able to get OBS working with Apex running in DX12, or should I figure out how to get it working and let you know what settings I had used?
