Packet Loss (PS5)
Hello. I've been having serious problems on PS5 since the Chaos Theory event patch. Every game I'm getting sever packet loss, congestion, and prediction errors. This results in my screen moving ver...
Hi there, @Blitzen121.
I'll try to help with this. Are you playing on a wired or wireless connection? Thanks!
Wireless. After some extensive digging (particularly among issues related to Apex and the PS5 around it's launch) it seems like the issue is that, for whatever reason, Apex servers don't like the PS5 being on a wireless connection. Every other game runs smooth on wireless, but Apex will only work properly on a hardwired connection.
I actually remember having this issue briefly when I got the PS5 initially, but before I had set up the wired connection.
Strange case, either way.
Thank you!
Wireless isn't an issue with Apex only. It's an issue that affects every game, but it doesn't affect gameplay the same with every game. Wireless is probably the biggest reason we see for poor connections with our games. It's just not a stable enough connection for gaming. You may want to look into a powerline adaptor if using a wire isn't possible. Powerline adaptors have been a good solution for many in that situation.
I have the exact same issue, over 200mbps, changed ISP to see if that was the issue. The issue I believe is in your net code which has been an issue since launch, and from what I can tell not having an actual build for the PS5. The OP is also correct, if the "connection issues" as you call them don't impact other gameplay but impact your gameplay the issue is with you. Putting it off on others is a sad corporate response from a company that skimps money by utilizing the cheapest servers you can rent. So can you try to answer his questions again with a solution that isn't "not my problem, buy something that masks the issue"
If someone has a bad connection, it's not going to affect the others connected to the same server. That will be felt by the person with the bad connection. If Apex were played over a peer to peer connection, that would be a different story, but that's not the case here. If you want to go through troubleshooting, let me know. I'm glad to do that.
