Provisional Ranked Match Points Question

I know we do not have a real breakdown on how all the backend stuff works in regards to points you receive. However, I have no idea how this makes sense.

**Just to preface this if it even matters on how this works: My overall KD in Apex is 1.5, their overall KD is around 1.0 or 0.9. My overall KD in Only Ranked play is around a 1.2, theirs, 0.9 or so. My overall Apex level is Prestige 2 (or whatever you want to call it) 5 and they are Prestige 1 level 400+**

Playing with my normal group the last two seasons, there has been one constant that we cannot wrap our heads around:

We finish a match with similar stats, as I am the highest rank in our lobby, it is my understanding that the sbmm should pull opponents closer to my skill level, and I will get almost double their points in the provisional matches. However, when this part is over, and we have our ranks, they will get more points in matches than I do, regardless of how well I play.

Example from last night:

I finished a match with 3 kills 2 assists, we get 2nd place, all of our damage was around the same within 200 points, and I end up with 1800 rank points, and they get 700 or 800.

Finished another match where I got 1 kill, 2 assists, we get 5th place, and same thing. I ended up with 1400 points, they got around 600. Even the guy with 4 kills and more damage only got that much.

So I am sitting at Bronze 3 I believe after 4 matches, while they are still in Rookie 2. 

This same thing happened last season during provisional.

Then, when our rank is actually set up after these matches, I become the one that gets near 0 elim bonus while they actually get 20-50 points and they get the performance bonus while I never do.

It honestly seems like they should be getting the higher point totals in the preliminary matches since my skill level is higher, but they are getting half of my points at times. 

Does anyone have an idea how this happens with the current system? 

To say they are a little irritated would be correct. I would be too if I had a pop off game, finish top 3 or get a W, to have the higher ranked person on the team get 1 kill and double my reward points.
