PS4 lag for a week straight

Yo guys. So since last week starting Friday night every game of Apex is extremely laggy. My character itself in the game is fine....but everything from other players to the drones or foliage in the map lags. Its bad until there's about 5 to 6 squads left then its fine.

I have a wired internet connection...and I've restarted the Internet. Didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Still didn't work. I checked the network info on the title screen and it says the packet loss in %100 in St. Louis...which is as close as to where I live on the list. I've been doing Trials of Osiris in Destiny the past couple weekends without any problems. 

I have been purposely not been playing Apex lately because of this problem, hoping someday it gets fixed. But it hasn't...and it's getting very aggravating trying to play with people stuttering in their movements. 

Anyone have any suggestions? Or is this happening to someone else either? Appreciate any feedback!

    Hi there. 

    Let's try running through some troubleshooting steps to see if we can help out with the lag issues you've been seeing. A good place to start would be with the basic connectivity troubleshooting steps over at the EA Help website. 

    If it's still happening after that I'd also recommend checking out the PlayStation-specific steps as well. Let me know how it goes when you can. Thanks!

  • Thank you for the reply.

    I have already looked through troubleshooting tips...I have done everything from resetting the system to resetting my internet. Nothing has worked so far. 

    I am constantly having that packet loss symbol in the top right of my screen

    Thanks for giving it a shot. 

    Can we also try changing the DNS settings on your PS4 to see if that helps at all? Using a different DNS can sometimes help with issues like this. To update the DNS follow the steps below: 

    1.  Open up the Settings on your PS4, then go to Network. From there go to Set Up Internet Connection, and select either WiFi or LAN cable depending on what you're using. 
    1. Select Custom > IP Address Settings (Automatic) > DHCP Host Name (Do Not Use) > DNS Settings (Manual) 
    1. Enter the Primary DNS as 8.8.8.8 and the secondary DNS as 8.8.4.4 -- This is the public Google DNS. 
    1. Select Next > MTU Settings (Automatic) > Proxy Server (Do Not Use) > Test Internet Connection

  • I did all of that and unfortunately i did not work. Almost won a game tho lol

    This only started happening towards the end of the System Overdrive event. Its never done this until then.

    Do you have access to a PC on the same network where you're playing Apex Legends? If so, could you run a UO Trace and send it to me? That will give us a detailed look at the connection from your device to the servers, so if there's anything happening along the way we might be able to spot it.

    Thanks for sending over the UO Trace. Looking at the second one you sent there's quite a bit of packet loss happening throughout the entire test. It appears to start as soon as the connection is leaving your home network and continues all the way to the final hop. 

    When you've got a chance I'd recommend getting in touch with your Internet provider to see if they can offer any insight as to where this packet loss might be coming from. If you can show them these same results that may also help narrow it down.
