PS5 & PC Cross progression

Hi,

Is linking my ps5 account and steam account to EA account enough for the cross-progression to merge my accounts? I used to play on playstation but moved to PC and now have both my steam account, which I play on currently, and my playstation account both linked to my EA account. Will the merge happen automatically or do I have to turn it on manually somewhere, if it happens automatically when will that happen?
