PS5 Dualsense Edge suddenly stopped working

Never had a great experience with EA but I don't have any other option than to take this route so lets see if anything comes of it.

I play on PS5 version with a Dualsense Edge controller.

Oddly about about 5 mins into playing this evening the controller stopped responding - but only with apex legends everything else it works fine with - other games and the PS UI homescreen everything.

Changed controller to a regular Dualsense and it work fine - so this would imply it's specific to the dualsense edge and apex legends right?

I'm reinstalling apex just in case but this seems rather strange - I just don't understand why it would suddenly stop working - for the record no I don't use Cronus or anything like that it's just a regular edge controller. I just find it odd this just started in the last few hours?
