[PS5/PS4] Abnormal Stick Input, Acceleration & Aim Assist

[Exact Timestamp (Local Time)]

September 16, 2026 (Japan Standard Time, JST)

Currently, this issue occurs every time I play the game.

[Platform]

PlayStation 5

  • I have also confirmed the same symptoms on a PS4 console.
  • The issue occurs in both the PS5 and PS4 versions of Apex Legends.

[Symptoms]

Since around April to May 2026, controller input in Apex Legends has felt abnormal.

This is not simply an issue of the sensitivity being too high.

Even when I move the right stick only slightly, much stronger acceleration than before occurs, and the camera moves much farther than the amount of input I make.

Because of this, fine aim adjustments are difficult, and when I try to stop the crosshair on the position I am aiming at, it overshoots.

The movement feeling of the left stick is also clearly different from before.

Aim assist also feels much weaker than before and behaves in a way that does not seem normal.

My usual settings are:

・Sensitivity: 3-2

・Response Curve: Linear

・Deadzone: Small

・ALC: All values set to 0, with ALC turned OFF

I have not changed my sensitivity from what I used previously.

[Especially Abnormal Points]

The controls feel abnormal at all times in every game mode, making the game extremely difficult to play properly.

Furthermore, even though I am using the same controller, the same sensitivity, and the same settings, the amount of camera acceleration, the stick movement feeling, and the effectiveness of aim assist change significantly depending on the game mode, including:

・Firing Range

・Normal matches

・Mixtape

・Wildcard

The controls feel especially bad in Mixtape and Wildcard.

I do not mean that only certain game modes are affected.

The controls are abnormal in every mode, but the abnormal control feel itself changes depending on the mode.

The controls change so much that it does not feel as though I am using the same sensitivity settings.

[Other Abnormal Behavior]

Sometimes, simply changing the sensitivity or ALC settings and then returning them to the original values changes the control feel.

Also, even though Per Optic ADS Sensitivity in the standard sensitivity settings is turned OFF, the scope sensitivity numbers such as “1” and “2” are sometimes displayed in white instead of gray.

When I move the menu cursor over those settings, the numbers become gray.

The control feel also seems to change depending on whether those numbers are displayed in white or gray.

[Troubleshooting / Testing Already Performed]

This issue occurs only in Apex Legends.

I have already tested the following:

・Multiple DualSense controllers, including a brand-new DualSense, with the same result

・USB connection and Bluetooth connection, with the same result

・PS5 console and PS4 console, with the same result

・PS5 version and PS4 version of Apex Legends, with the same result

・Different PSN accounts, with the same result

・Different monitors, with the same result

・Different HDMI cables, with the same result

・Reinstalled Apex Legends, with no improvement

・Reset the in-game settings and deleted/reset the save data/settings, with no improvement

・Factory reset the PS5, with no improvement

・Tested wired LAN, home Wi-Fi, and smartphone tethering, with the same result

・Similar symptoms occur at both 60 FPS and 120 FPS

・Tested HDR, VRR, 120 Hz output, RGB Range, and other video settings, with no improvement

During matches, my Ping is approximately 16–26 ms, packet loss is 0%, and I do not experience any noticeable lag.

When I play other games using the same PS5, controller, and monitor, this kind of input abnormality does not occur.

[What I Would Like the Development Team to Investigate]

In particular, I would like the development team to investigate the following:

  1. Why the camera appears to move more than the amount of stick input I make
  2. Why stronger and abnormal camera acceleration occurs compared with before
  3. Why the effectiveness and behavior of aim assist feel abnormal
  4. Why the control feel and aim assist behavior change significantly depending on the game mode even though I am using the same settings
  5. Why changing sensitivity or ALC settings and then returning them to the original values can change the control feel
  6. Why the UI display changes even though Per Optic ADS Sensitivity is turned OFF

This issue has continued for a long time and is making normal gameplay extremely difficult.

General troubleshooting has not resolved the issue, so could the development team please investigate this problem in detail?

I sincerely ask for your assistance with this issue.
