@Strikegunner I have only used WiFi - and in my situation - switching to 5Ghz network eliminated the lag/rubber banding that would occur every 20 seconds.
I'm honestly going through hell with it ive had to go back to my ps4
- @Leyabean23 is yours really that bad? mine lags but it's manageable. Talking about the lag issue I may have found my issue, I have my PS5 connected via a power line adapter. I had my ps4 connected to the same power line adapter and had no issue playing Apex. But I was doing some DIY recently and I have found a fault in my wall socket. After doing some tests it seems that the fault is causing latency spikes when using the PS5 but not on the PS4. I have ordered a new wall socket, When I have installed it I will update.
Well I installed a new wall socket, lag is still there. Starting to think it's just the game. I played fortnite for the first time in ages (the ps5 version) no lag, none at all plugged in the PS4 no issue no lag just smooth. The only thing that gets me is I have seen other people play on PS5 without any issues. So why am I?
I am exactly the same as you at this point am using the ps4 again that ps5 is really not working for me
- @Leyabean23 I have finally resolved my lag issue. On my PS4 I was using the CloudFlare DNS and it worked great no issues so I used it on my PS5. But last night I thought let me change the DNS just to see what happens so I changed it to SafeDNS and Lag has gone. Slightly slower then CloudFlare but seems to be working. So all in all I have fixed my wall socket, changed all my ethernet cables and changed my DNS and now I'm lag free. Hopefully I stay lag free ☺️.
Please may you help me with how i change my dsn to that please.
- It doesn't work! I'm still moving slowly .Unable to play on ps5 in apex
- @Leyabean23 I was able to partially reduce the latency of the image .I remembered that the other day I turned off the "game mode" of the TV, returned it and everything became faster. DNS server 8.8.8.8 additional 8.8.4.4. Try it, maybe it will help someone
I've been having a lag spike issue on my PS5 as well. The only thing is that the stats are not showing that I am losing packets or really lagging. Running solid 60FPS and a Latency of 40ms-70ms. Sometime my latency jumps up to 100 but that doesn't usually happen. I have opened all the ports on my router to better accommodate the PS5, bought a new router, and had my ISP change all the lines in my home.
The "lag" that happens to me is quite weird. I am running at normal speed and then my character gets, what looks like a speed boost, glitch and puts me 10 steps ahead of where I normally was. Even when I'm picking up items, I'll press square, and then my character sides steps over 2 steps and I picked nothing up.
So, for me, it's just super glitchy that happens constantly. I would go back to my PS4 pro, but I sold it already.
Is this what's happening to everybody?
Thanks!

got a wifi 6 router with 20ms ping and everyone is rubber banding everywhere. This has been constantly happening to me since I got my ps5 and my friend has the same issue over wifi on the series S. Something is up with wifi and the new consoles for Apex.
