Hey @somecomedy,
Which platform are you trying to download the update on?
I have same problem, I'm Origin user.
I have 50 gb of free space in my D Disk, as i saw the update is only 20GB. Than what is the problem? idk ...- EA_Kent

Thanks for the info!If you haven't already, can you try clearing your Origin cache to see if that helps? I've seen some cases where that can fix issues like this.

I had this problem last night with my download. I got stuck at about 90% patching files and the DL would go no further. It happened 3 times. I am also an Origin user.
My solution was to de-install Apex and then Re-install it. it took some time but the game fully installed and I was able to play with no problems.
You might want try this route if nothing else seems to help.
