Community ManagerI'm afraid there's no cross-platform progression for Apex Legends. Your progress on the Xbox account wouldn't transfer over to the PC. You would be playing a separate account if you log into the game on Steam.

I accidentally signed into steam using my apex account , will I still be able to play on my Xbox without it being affected by the steam account? I am a brand new player on steam but I am not sure if this will reset my Xbox account

That shouldn't cause any problems with playing Apex Legends. Since your accounts for Apex Legends don't share progress between platforms, your Xbox progress wouldn't be affected by Steam or vice versa.
