The first time I did this I got someone who said it wasn't allowed. 2 days later, I tried again and got someone who fixed it for me no problem. I think maybe they came up with a solution in those 2 days, or you really do just have to try until you talk to the right person. Either way, it's fixed for me. I hope everyone else can get it figured out too 🙂
- @purplealligat0r2 Thanks for the information, I have contacted the EA support and they have unlinked my account, after that manipulation I was ask to link my origin account at the launch of Apex on Steam, so now I'm all good !
Awesome! Glad you got it working.
do you still have your game progress? etc..
I am still trying to contact with the support because of the same problem, but i have no answer as well. Everytime i have the same message:
Check the pop-up chat window for the next available EA Advisor.
and thats it. No pop-up chat, no support. Are they too busy and cant answer? Anyone have any idea?
Im still not found it
Your origin account should be exactly the same. So yes you can still have all of your items if you play on origin.

I can't still get this, how did you manage to do it?
- Anonymous5 years ago@Marchombre_Onyx How?
- Anonymous5 years ago@purplealligat0r2 How did they unlink it when you played Apex Legends?
- @Anonymous I just contacted the EA support and ask us to unlink my account, the support unlinked my EA account and at the next connection I was able to connect to my correct EA account
So confusing. Just got off chat with an EA Support representative and was told I couldn't unlink my account without permanently deleting everything tied to it so I just didn't bother. Back in November I tried to transfer accounts but all it did was change the email I log in with and had practically no effect.
- @king_gamer_35 Maybe try asking them specifically to remove your persona from your account. There are 3 attachments with my original message that may help you. If not, just keep contacting them until you get someone who will do it. Good luck, fingers crossed 🙂

brother i tried the same method they unlinked my steam account from origin but now when i tried to link another steam account i got the error saying "
- your account cant be linked because the EA account for (my old steam email)is already linked to the steam account for (old steam name) an EA account can only be linked to one steam account in its life time . dont know what todo
I believe I have the same issue. I am playing on Playstation for the first time in 8 years, so when I tried to login with an EA account I was told I already had it linked to an existing PSN account ("Account A") . I *was* able to successfully unlink the old account ("Account A") and the EA rep confirmed it shows as unlinked on their end (photo attached). HOWEVER, every time I have tried to sign in with my new PSN Account ("Account B") I receive the attached message that the EA account is already linked to Account A. This is true for trying to log in to my EA account on both Google Chrome AND PS5 so it is not an issue with my PS5 downloading info (I have already restored licenses and hard reset the console).
I've contacted EA support multiple times and they say it's a "technical issue" and my complaint is simply not true. Either 1) it is taking EA servers DAYS to process account information updates (which us unacceptable for a global company) or 2) the linking system is simply broken and EA is deliberately lying to its customers. I've seen similar complains and just want to say I am actively not playing this game because of how shoddy the support system is.
- @EA_Darko would love a response
