Re: Cross Progression unlink

Hey @IvanTheStick,

As you had mentioned finding, unlinking your account will typically cause your Apex progress to be lost. This warning also pops up when you go through the process to unlink an account.

This is because your progress is stored on the EA account level, not individual platforms like your PSN or Xbox accounts.

If you unlinked your Xbox account and linked that to the EA account with your PlayStation progress, you'd be able to access that PlayStation progress on both Xbox and PlayStation, but none of the Xbox progress would transfer over - that's still on the original EA account itself.

If you're wanting to try recovering that progress you will need to re-link the Xbox account to its original EA account. If you have trouble with this, please contact support.

Unfortunately that means if you have progress on two separate EA accounts, there is not a way to merge or combine that progress.

  • im having the same issues and it truly is the dumbest thing ever ive never had this issue with fortnite or any other game why has ea made it so anti consumer ive paid for all this stuff on two account because you guys didn't have cross play to begin with now you're saying i cant merge the two to have the stuff i worked for and paid for with my money that's low . people usally will sign in with the platform that they play on so when they go to another platform they'd do the same thing so eg making new account and then when you guys finally make cross progression an thing after years of not having such a basic thing you screw it up by locking people from not merging their progression over the several accounts. ive lost all faith in ea such a shallow and * company

  • So we cannot merge two apex accounts while both are on the same ea account and the only way to recover your sum is ultimately not to merge them. Thank you EA I knew you were incompetent but this surpasses all the others.

  • I need help, i connected my psn account to an ea account because i believed that my stuff would follow my psn account and not the ea one. and now im connected back to my original ea but unable to disconnect my psn from the new ea account simply because it will not let me log into that account even though ive tried using my email for that account and the name of the account,. if possible would it be possible for you guys to link my psn account back to my original ea account

    Hey @slowhand46477,

If you're having any trouble re-linking or accessing your account, please get in touch with support directly as we'd be unable to make changes here on the forums.

If you create a new case here and select Game Support > The EA app > I want to update my EA Account information, you should be able to get in touch with the support team so they can assist further.
  • Im having problems with unlinking my xbox account from an old EA account that hasn't been used for a while, im able to sign in the old account but the icon for unlinking the accounts isn't showing up. The problem with it being in this account is that it merged with another family member so im worried that i might not get any of my items back.

  • just wondering if this still stands, recently started playing again and have the same problem and i am wondering if there has been any fixes or new solutions yet, thanks

    Hey @DarraghGG,

What type of issue are you having?

There haven't been any changes to how Cross Progression works, so if you've unlinked a platform from another account to bring it to your current EA account, I'm afraid that would still not transfer any progress.

Progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress. If that's the case, you would need to try re-linking your platform back to its original EA account.

    Hi can anyone help/offer advice?
I played on PC and recently came to console. I unlinked my psn from its old ea account and linked it to my ea account I use on PC. It worked fine, had my level/stats and rewards/items. I then reset the game and when I logged back in I was level 1, all stats reset, no badges such as 4k but still have ranked badges and event badges, and have all skins. Very confused and can’t seem to find anyone with this exact problem online. Thanks

    Hi @Anonymous,

Unlinking your PSN from the EA Account where it was originally linked will disrupt your connection to that content.

You'll need to re-link your PSN back to the original EA Account to try recovering access to that content.

    Thanks for the reply.

I don’t want any of the content from my original EA account, I never played apex on it just FIFA when I used to play console. So I linked it instead to my ea I used for Apex on PC.

But as I say when I first linked it and logged into ps5 version of Apex I was my Apex level, with all stats and badges etc. Now I’m back to level 1 but still have rank rewards and skins, but no stats or level. Do you have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hey @Anonymous,

If you played Apex on your PSN account, it was linked to an EA Account. It's not possible to play without being linked to an EA Account.

That means when you linked it to the new EA Account, that link was disrupted. I see you mentioned seeing the content initially, but that is not something we can help with. The only way to try restoring that would be to re-link your PSN to its previous EA Account.

Please see our article here for more details: https://help.ea.com/en/help/account/unlink-gaming-accounts-from-ea-account/

I didn’t play it on psn before, but either way my new account still has my rewards and skins which I don’t want to lose so I’m not going to unlink this and risk losing them altogether. Its just confusing that they would have brought my skins and badges over meaning cross progression obviously worked, just the stats and level I’m concerned about but if you’re saying it can’t be fixed then so be it I guess.

    Thanks
