EVERY solution i've seen in the Internet is not working for me
Valorant Vaguard - is not working for me
Autoruns - is not working for me
Drivers - is not working for me
Files in Win32\drivers - is not working for me
Actions with antivirus - is not working for meand all the methods
what to do guys, save me something, im addicted with apexRemoving mtihint.sys and mticache.sys in C>Windows>System32>drivers worked for me.
High probability the anti-cheat is blocking the launch based on the files in drivers folder, the files need to be deleted/moved could differ based on the software's you have installed on your system.
I followed @lasop123 solution and then restored folders and files back to the original directory (C>Windows>System32>drivers) one at a time and kept relaunching the game till I found the exact files that were causing the issue.
Hope this helps 🙂- @BananaMiwk i have no that file
- @k10FA ahah i dont even have these files too, every file that is being suggested
@k10FA > "Removing mtihint.sys and mticache.sys in C>Windows>System32>drivers worked for me"
OMG...that worked...for me. Your mileage may vary.
@deaddxrk
Its possible some other file is getting flagged, best case is to do trial and error. I tried to search the files which others suggested but none of them were there in my folder. So I had to move bunch of files and figure it out.- @ToastyCeral i have no these files, what to do?
- @k10FA to move out the file you should change the owner (for example, change the trusted installer to admin), soo.. you were doing it with the every file in drivers folder? that's extremely much
Removing the "Not Verified" drivers using Autoruns worked for me. They weren't marked in red, which threw me for a while, because I was looking for red ones. I then stared at it a long time and noticed a couple were not verified.
@deaddxrk
NopeI created a new folder in drivers and moved everything from drivers to this new folder whichever files/folder had the permission to be moved.
There were bunch of files and folders which windows did not allow me to move, I skipped those.
Launched the game and it worked.
Since these are lot of files and some of them may be required I tried to re-copy the moved folders to original location one by one. In case of files I just moved in batches alphabetically and after moving each batch I tried to launch the game, the moment it stops launching you will know that the particular batch if files is the issue so move them one by one or in smaller numbers and find out which files are the cause.- @deaddxrk I don't know, its a guessing game until EA has the official patch or instructions.
- @k10FA oh i totally understood you and it doesn't work in my case, i did it step by step (i mean moved everything in a new folder) but nothing happened, so i suppose that a file that conflicts with EAC is in the list of files that are not allowed to move, but if I go through each file it would last forever
- @k10FA This worked for me. Thanks!
Removing mtihint.sys and mticache.sys in C>Windows>System32>drivers worked for me. This did work for me
@k10FA This worked for me. Thanks!
Removing mtihint.sys and mticache.sys in C>Windows>System32>drivers worked for me.I created a new folder, moved those two files into the folder, while still in the DRIVERS folder and Apex started right up, gonna do some test runs and see if its stable
===This fix was stable on my PC, I played about 10 games, some long some short, no hiccups, stuttering or killing to desktop+++
I didn't have these, but I was also able to solve my issue by making another folder in my windows/system32/drivers folder, and copying all allowable files into that folder. I will leave them there till this is patched I guess, I have no idea what the damage of doing this would be?
I had zero issues yesterday, and then today I got "Kmode Exception Not Handled" when trying to play the game.
Went through the process of letting my PC repair itself after the game froze for about 5 seconds. (My PC restarted itself right after the game had froze), after I got back into the game, I've noticed I had received a penalty for "leaving" ranked. (thanks Apex), and then when I got into another game, my monitor just went black and didn't respond to anything, so I forced shutdown my PC.
Whatever they did to Apex is messing with our PCs, as this ONLY started to happen with Apex. While my friend isn't able to launch Apex on Origin at all, sayng: "my game closed twice and froze once." So they just ran it through Steam.- @xspcsx mtihint.sys and mticache.sys are not present in my drivers folder.
I'm not sure what to tell you, when I was looking I was just hoping they'd be there so I could attempt the fix, now that they're they I just wish I knew what they are originally for
The solution first, works for me, but others might have a different fix depending on their setup:
1. Make a new folder in system32>drivers (I named it backup)
2. Cut and paste all the .sys files, ignore the folders
3. If they need administrator permission to move, continue
4. If they ask for second permission, skip all files (try again won't change a thing)
5. Then try to play Apex. If it works, then there's a problem with the moved drivers. If it doesn't work, unfortunately, you might need to wait for another solution.
Now, if you're skeptical, it's understandable, moving something in sys32 without knowing what it is is dangerous. But, the drivers that actually needed are all filtered on the 4th step, so the moved drivers should all be unused (but somehow Apex is trying to read/execute them in the latest update)
I fine-tuned the method by slowly moving back all the drivers from the backup folder (playing Skyrim with mods, combing files like this is like necessity). For me, there's a driver called MFWCtwl.sys which is from Samsung Electronics (I don't have any Samsung). There are people with mtihint.sys and mticache.sys, or others with ABD_something.sys. You might have different problem drivers too.

Thankfully you came back to check on this thread you made, even though there are a lot of people here already with their own problems.
Anyway, I searched for my problems and found out that you also have the same problems, hence why I'm here reading the thread.
I've also done the same troubleshooting as you did, but to no avail.
Funny enough, the solution @lasop123 worked for me.
Good luck.
I still can't play the game since last update at the end of july.
The trouble: the game launches, I see the first windows then nothing i get back to the desktop, and in the process, Apex is maked as running but with only 250 mo of RAM used.
config: windows 10, nvidia 3060 ti, AMD 3700x cpu,
I tried:
- get rid of Razer and cooler master soft and services about any rgb stuff
- repare, desinstall and reinstall apex, origin, even tried to install on steam (exactly same trouble)
- run as admin EasyAntiCheat_launcher.exe and r5apex.exe
- fix easyanticheat using EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe
- closed all non-microsoft services and run a clean boot
- launch malwarebyte to try to find if some malwares interfering
...
so here i'm: still the exact same reproducible trouble: it launches easy-anticheat then nothing. It even replaced the Apex shortcut on my desktop but the easy anticheat icon.
My son on his PC: it works.
So, what can we do? No news and any communication? We are on holiday to benefit from gaming a bit and doesn't work
Really cool that we wwnt a whole * week and missed all but one day of the event because an update broke something. 🙂
Also stating it once again, this thread was made for the issue of the game being able to launch and then crashing after being open for a few minutes, not being unable to launch past EAC. Its hard to tell what people are trying to offer solutions for in here when everyone is talking about 2 different issues without saying which one they actually have. From what I can tell, everyone messing with BIOS or Sys32 are the ones suffering from EAC?
same thing for me. still not working and logo changed. its been a whole week without a word from them. They have robbed us of our money
- @rangepup sorry we crashed your party
@xspcsx weirdly, this worked for me!
"Removing mtihint.sys and mticache.sys in C>Windows>System32>drivers worked for me.I created a new folder, moved those two files into the folder, while still in the DRIVERS folder and Apex started right up, gonna do some test runs and see if its stable"
I'll keep it like this as well. Just made a new folder for these two within the same drivers folder. I was able to open and play Apex afterwardsDownload this tool from EasyAntiCheat website, it will scan for any corrupted drivers\files that interferes with EAC

better than messing up your drivers and file paths 🙂 .
