I have the same issue, tried reinstalling, updated video drivers to thew newest one from today for my RTX 2080ti. Issue started last night when I tried to play, everything the dropship countdown ends my game freezes and I have the kill the task. Haven't updated anything else on my system since I played the previous day without issue, I was at work all day so first thing I did with my PC was fire up the game.
- @Floatingflip I updated the drivers and it didn't work for me. I did just found a new update for Windows 10 again. Installing that now, hoping it does something. I also had a talk with someone for the EA help desk and they send me some links per email to follow. If those steps resolve the issue I will share it asap. However I do have to download origin & Apex AGAIN after the steps, so it might take a while.
I just updated Windows and started up Apex again.
It let me jump out of the ship this time around, but it froze right after that. I did this a couple more times but it kept freezing at the countdown after that.
I talked to multiple people at EA and nothing seems to work. I think by this time we just have to sit and wait for them to figure out what it is since it is affecting way more people now than yesterday. Sorry lads.- EA_Kent6 years ago

I'm working on gathering some information on this to pass along. Which game mode were you playing when it happened?

@EA_Kent Hey Kent,
it's pretty much in every game mode beside the firing range and the tutorial..
- @EA_Kent It happened during all the game modes EXCEPT the practice range. Whenever you have to drop out of the dropship this error will occur.

I've found that i have it crash in the tutorial as well as during the drop. In the tutorial i had it crash opening the first loot bin. and also after throwing several thermal grenades at the floor

- @EA_Kent If it can help, in one game i should have been with the champion squad, but when the game showed the champs (before dropping) it was just the other 2 teamates, and at the start of the drop countdown i was with them again. Then it froze again and i had to kill it from the task manager. It was like the game knew that i was going to leave right after picking the legend
@EA_Kent In Quick/Ranked/Event Tutorial and Fireing range is working
- @EA_Kent ive tried both pvp games modes with the exception of rank for obvious reason. I can load into firing range without any issues.
@EA_Kent If it helps, I won the game before it started doing this and I am the champion now every time i try to get into a new match. So I guess it does register as a crash and gives a "loss forgiveness" equivalent. I just feel bad for my teammates because I've been troubleshooting and keep trying to load into a game only to crash and leave my team lol.
same here, I just made a thread before seeing this, I thought I was the only one, I tried everything possible to fix it since 5pm yesterday, all my friends can play :l
- @Raevylle thanks. No luck so far. Neither graphic update nor windows update helped.
Both sad and glad to see so many more people have the issue. Really thought I was alone there till I read your post.
I've read the reddit and tweet responses as well, solving this is going to require an origin or apex hotfix I believe. So far I've even encountered people doing full clean PC installations for the game with no luck.
Guess we all really wanted to complete Deja Loot event 🙂
I'll keep checking, am blessed with fiber connection so a redownload of anything will go quick. If something works and it isn't posted yet I'll do so here first thing. I found a solution - Delete all origin cache files in windows hidden program data folder. Now everthing works great again.......

No new remedies attempted, looks like they fixed the issue.

Is it still happening for anyone? It sounds like some people aren't seeing these freezes anymore.

Any idea why that happened? Still happening to me. I can play maybe 10 seconds to 5 minutes of a game and then it crashes. If I open task manager I can see that there's an engine error popup box, but have no way to open it and investigate. This issue is happening to me every game, and in firing range and tutorial. I've tried reinstalling apex, reinstalling origin, updating drivers, downgrading drivers, updating windows, repairing Apex, and nothing is solving it.

Damn Leo that sounds like a different problem. Most people on this thread were crashing at the exact same spot in game every time. But we were able to play in firing range. @EA_Kent yes thank you so much o can actually play Apex now without freezing at the start of every game.
1 game just played it looks like its now sorted. Thank you, will we ever find out what it was?
