- @AreYouCryin1 You can download RTSS here https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html
or install MSI Afternurner which includes RTSS https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html
donwloads are at the very bottom i did that and my game froze this time. all i did was set my max fps in the RTSS, was I supposed to do more?
I have not been able to play at all I get to hike the ball 🏈 and glitch freeze reload play one down rinse wash repeat since the day it launched I tried every setting in my tv and cable to refresh every setting on my cable box 📦 wtf is going on it's needs like a patch rite?
Are all the games glcihed I bought mine game stop digital down load it didn't come in release date it was late then it didn't have the codes so I didn't have the codes for any the packs or anything several days later
- @AreYouCryin1 The only combination that works for me is to unlock my fps via Steam launch options with +fps_max 0 and limit the fps with RTSS to 140. Apparently using the nvidia control panel to cap the fps is working for someone else.
Are you using Steam or the EA app ? Playing on the EA app froze the game for me too, instead of completely terminating the game. - @AreYouCryin1 140 fps is my desirable framerate btw, I didn't test with any other values. You can try a lower or higher fps cap of course. Important for me was the combination of launch option and using RTSS. I suggest you try the lowest you are comfortable playing with and the highest your PC can sustain.
I use steam and a 165 hz monitor, so I capped my fps at 160, which I never dropped under that. First time using RTSS so all I did was change the framerate limit, was that all I was supposed
to do other then the +fps_max 0?This actually works ,idk for how long at least for now , ive played 3 + hours without crashing by using your settings , thanks buddy
- @AreYouCryin1 Yes, launch option and adjusting the fps in RTSS. If we have the same Problem you should be good now. Good luck
- @KosmikTerrorr Awesome, i hope its a permanent fix for you too. Have fun.
Hmm first game I used it I froze, I'll keep trying it and hoping that freeze was a one time thing
- @AreYouCryin1 If you are freezing on Steam you are probably having a different issue. My game only froze on Origin, never on steam.
Freezing games in general were always either related to temperature or RAM timings in the past for me.
If you did no other troubleshooting besides a factory reset, I would start by running cinebench and furmark at the same time, while keeping HWinfo open and keeping an eye on all the temperatures. CPU and GPU hotspot especially. But be aware that these are very stressfull tests and could potentially damage your hardware if it is faulty already. @R99nO question, were you also crashing in the lobby as well? I crash in both the lobby and in the game, but it's always more towards end game. I have a super good computer that runs every game very well, it's decently new and only time I have a crashing issue is in apex, and it's crashing to desktop instantly with no error.
- @AreYouCryin1 In past seasons it crashed everywhere, Lobby and any game mode. This season it never crashed in the lobby, always in the firing range and BR and varying times in mixtape. With my fix BR has not crashed once again so far. Firing range and mixtape once each.
First I would try to use dx12. You can do it by using the launch option
"-eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12.json" (without quotation marks) you will see dx12 beta in to the bottom right ingame if it works correctly.
If you have not tried yet, turn all settings down to low. Depending on your GPU turn all additional things off like Anti-Lag or Reflex. Set your sound to stereo in windows and ingame. Use a different sound device if you can or diable it.
Turn the polling rate of your mouse down to 500 if you have it any higher. - @AreYouCryin1 Oh and of course kill every process that is not necessary like sofware from you mouse and keyboard, soundmixers and RGB software, firewalls and anti virus software (I just use Windows own, they dont give me any problems)
@R99nO just tried RTSS again and played a couple pubs, crashing to desktop still happened mid fight. Def not a computer issue though, mine is very good, so I'll try using a VPN and see if that works. Is this dx12 thing something worth trying? Seems as my crashing to desktop issue is the exact same as yours and others

Turn the polling rate of your mouse down to 500 if you have it any higher.I play with all settings on low, but what could setting it to stereo and changing my mouse polling rate do? Curious because I usually don't see a consistency when I crash, but it is sometimes when I flick, thought that is just a conincidence though
- @AreYouCryin1 I had subjectivly more crashes in the past when trying out Windows Sonic, so i guess it's worth a try. Mouse polling rate over 500 was a problem in the past. This apparently got fixed and 1000 is fine now. However mice like the viper 8k have huge problems in alot of games. Just mentioning it because I dont know what you are using.
Oh and btw try capping your fps lower if you have not yet, i know it kinda sucks but 120 is still fine and you get used to it quickly. I tried 140 which is 25 below my refresh rate, but never went under 140 fps. Honestly I'll try the VPN but if it doesn't work I might just have to wait till the issue is fixed on EA's side.
I appreciate all the help you've done and offered, just unfortunate that the RTSS capping didn't fix it for me. Just started getting back into apex and I can't even play, plus crashing in masters just makes it harder to gain LP- @AreYouCryin1 Definitely try a VPN, that solves it for alot of people. Seems like we have a different issue.
@R99nO yeah I will try that, saw someone say something about dynamic (rotating) IP's being an issue, which is what I have, so I could see a VPN being my fix
- @AreYouCryin1 if you have not seen it yet. @GlobalShock made a little guide regarding VPN use.
