hey i read other peoples responses and here is a solution:

1. cancel update

2. "Application Settings" top menu

3. turn off "Automatic game updates"

4. "Origin" menu at top and "Exit"

5. start Origin again

6. right click Apex in your Game library

7. select "Repair"

8. done. it'll repair & update your game

that should sort it out
