Re: Need Clarification on Cross Progression

Ok so the one thing I'm confused about is:

I got a PC at the end of 2020 but I kept playing Apex on Xbox until they added crossplay. I never installed Apex on my PC however I've had the Xbox account for years but the "any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged" worries me. Will I not be able to use my Xbox account on PC? I don't really want to merge accounts I just want my Xbox items.

I installed Apex on my PC and didn't get the pop-up which slightly worried me, do you think the rollout just hasn't hit my account yet?

The part about "any secondary Apex Legends accounts created after Oct 26th for the same EA account, will not be eligible to be merged" just means that you won't be able to get the progress on that account merged.

    So for example:

If you've got an Xbox account that you've got your main progress on and you just made/linked a Steam account to the same EA account after the 28th.

Once cross progression rolls out, the Xbox and Steam account will become one shared account, so you'll be able to access your Xbox data on that Steam account and play.

Let's say your EA Account is selected for Cross Progression on the wave of Nov 6.

This means that any progress you make on that Steam account between Oct 28th and Nov 6th will not be merged.

So that just means any progress made on those platform accounts linked/made after the 26th until the merge will be excluded from the merge.

The accounts themselves should merge fine, just the progress on the newly made platform accounts will not be brought over.

  • Hi im confused cant find a clear answer. My main acount is on pc, but my computer broke so i started playing on xbox. In my understanding the xbox has a different ea account. When I heard about cross progression i was happy. After i checked my connection on my pc ea account i realized that theres a wrong xbox account connected to it. So i relinked it to my proper xbox account. Now i have unaccessable  tabs and cant use my skins on xbox, i gues beacause its not the main xbox ea account. My question is i dont care about the progess on the xbox account. I linked the proper xbox account to my main pc account after 10/26. When cross progression will come to me will I be able to use my pc skins and coins on my xbox? Theyre linked now cause i see on the ea app that i have ea play because of my gamepass on xbox. Thank you for the answer.

So basically, you get one shot at the cross progression prompt merging content. One that passes, you're screwed. And if you have two EA accounts, you can connect two platforms, but only get the content from one.

As long your PC and Xbox account are on the same EA account, you should be able to access your PC progress on Xbox.
Cross progression will roll out in waves, there is no way of knowing when it's your turn to get cross progression.
The next wave will be on Nov 6, their goal is to roll out weekly waves from that point on.

    @beeeboopbeep3

Progress will only be merged once, accounts can always be linked after this merge.
So if you have progress on Xbox and PSN, once they merge it will become a shared account with the same progress.
If you decide to link a Steam account after this merge, then it'll be merged with that shared account, allowing you to play on Xbox, PSN and Steam with the same progress.

If you have 2 separate EA accounts then cross progression will only work between platform accounts on the respective EA accounts they're connected to.
Relinking a platform account from one EA account to another will not bring over it's data, so if you don't want to lose any data then you cannot merge those 2 different platform accounts.

  • It's a little hard to understand but basically, if I have created an account after the 26th, any progress made from then till now wont merge right? Let me put it like this, Ive had an apex psn account for years that has all my main stuff, skins heirloom, etc. When I heard of this, yesterday 11/5,  I installed the EA app on my pc and downloaded apex. Upon logging in, I basically made a new account because I never played apex on pc or through the EA app and only on psn.

So since I technically made an account after the 10/26, any progress made on this new EA account will not be merged is what youre saying right? but does it mean i can still be eligible to merge my psn account with it? I dont really care about progress made on my new account or even unlocking new stuff I dont have on my psn, I really just care for my items on my psn account.

Just to also add, everything is linked to the same gmail, psn, EA, etc and never unlinked my psn from my EA or even made a new EA account. I know its a little annoying for you guys to explain but I appreciate the help.

  • bro my account is completly fine and was created before oct 26 and i still dont have the message bruh

  • This is my exact problem and same questions. Im here for this one.

you hit the nail on the head.

following and wishing us luck bud.

  • So this is my situation. My main account that I’ve used since season 1 is on Xbox. I understand that I’ve made a new steam account and linked it to the Xbox EA account, and once I do get cross progression I’ll be able to access my Xbox stuff on pc. But will stats such as kills and stuff and badges transfer over too? Like will it be my exact Xbox account I’ll have on pc or is it just content?

  • @mattshep1

Yeah? There shouldn't be any problems with cross progression. Kills stats, badges will transfer from the account with the highest level so in your case the xbox 🙂
  • I have 2 separate EA accounts, one for my Steam and one for Xbox. I don’t really care about my progress on pc, I just want my skins and heirlooms from my Xbox on my pc. If I unlink my steam account and re-link it to the ea account with my Xbox, will my progress on both accounts be lost or only my steam, and will cross progression work properly?
