Re: Quiet voice chat

Hey @TobiasLarsen2707

Is the volume for your voice chat just really quiet? Does your headset have built-in volume controls to balance your voice chat with game volume? If so, can you try bumping up the voice chat side more to see if that makes any difference at all?

  • I don’t have this option and everyone its really quiet. I tried looking for a “voice volume” or something similar and I couldn’t seem to find anything. It’s fine when I’m with other ps4 players. But with cross plat, pc and Xbox people are EXTREMELY quiet.

    @dandyperson1

I've seen some similar reports of this happening during cross-play. Are you playing with specific friends on other platforms?

    /Kent

  • Yeah, I’ve been playing with both PC and XBox friends. I’m hoping the update today will fix it.

Thanks for following up. I'm sorry to hear it's still happening. I can pass this along to the team.

    Hey @rickylaw86

Are these players who are on different platforms? I've seen some recent reports of this happening with crossplay.

on both audio jack (Realtek) and HDMI audio I have incoming voice at 100% all other sounds at 50% voice is still too quiet!!
also tried Both headphones and speakers.
voice on all other games is fine

    Thanks for the details everyone.

We've sent these reports up to the Apex Legends team for a look.

    /Kent

  • Hello, I too have similar issues.

I use USB headset, my settings:

    System volume: 40%

    In-game master volume: 40%

    Voice chat volume: 100%

    sound effects, dialogue: 100%

    music volume: 31%

My in-game volume feels perfect except for the voice chat part, it's incredibly quiet. I have read somewhere that voice chat volume is somehow linked with the system volume and that I should put it on 100% and compensate for it with in-game volume settings. The issue with this is that I'd have to do this compensation in a lot of other games, browsers and applications. I wanna lie and say my work depends on it or something but the reality is that I'm simply too lazy to do all that work for voice chat.

Is there another way to fix this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey @cr4zy4pple

At the moment I haven't heard about any workarounds that can help with this. From other reports I've read it seems like it's sometimes intermittent. The team is working on getting this fixed, but unfortunately I don't have a time frame on when it might be resolved. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon. Thanks for being patient with us on this.

    /Kent

  • As work-around I've tried to make game's volume in Windows Mixer at 100%, then master volume to 100%, then soundeffects, dialogs and other at 20–40%, and voice chat at 100%. So, everything in-game at lower and voice chat at full level. But… as a side-effect EA clip at launch is not included in sound effects somewhy, and its volume always 100%, be careful with your ears.

Seems like people in in-game voice chat can barely hear me, and I can BARELY hear them too. This is even after I've done aggressive volume changes to make voice as loud as possible in-game. It seems like many people have this issue. I am on PC playing cross-platform

    Audio settings attached

  • This is still a major issue, cross platform. My friend says it sounds like I keep pulling the mic away from my face. We are trying to come back to Apex because we are sick of the issues in COD...but now we can't even hear each other ...

    Hey all,

Apologies for the late reply. The Apex Legends team is still investigating this and working to get it fixed. It's listed on the Apex Tracker, so I'd recommend keeping an eye out there for updates. Unfortunately I haven't heard any news on when it might be resolved.

    /Kent

  • Hi I am on ps5 and there is no incoming voice chat volume setting like on pc. Surely this is an easy add to the game considering its already a thing. I am forever having people talking super quiet and its so painful, I can't create a PlayStation party either because they are cross platform and solo queing why bother trying to fumble with that for every random team you get? Just add a simple slider in the settings please!!!

  • You said it’s added to the apex tracker and the link you sent says it’s fixed yet it’s not fixed at all.  People I’m on PlayStation cannot he’s rue correctly the game sound is too loud compared to my voice

  • I’m having the same problem here , any updates soon ?
