Can you run a UO Trace and screenshot the results? Instructions are here.
Can you run a UO Trace and screenshot the results? Instructions are here.
Can you run the test again and follow all the instructions? It looks like you didn't hit the Poll button.
Hopefully this is enough
Thank you. That's better. It also doesn't look too bad until you get to the servers farther away. So, it's possible that high ping is due to distance. I'd like you to try using alternate DNS settings with the instructions here. Let me know if that helps or not.
i've tried googles DNS before with the same results.
Yes i do live about 1,400km from the servers.
But the ping is usually 70-85 on normal days.
45-60 on good days.
Does not seem to affect the performance at all
How bad does the lag get? You said the performance isn't affected, but you're also saying the lag makes the game unplayable. Do you have QoS (Quality of Service) enabled on your router? Also, you could try opening the ports for Apex. They are listed here.
I meant the settings you suggest isnt affecting the performance.
The lag is as follows: whenever i turn, and especially inside buildings its starts to stutter really bad, like the game is running at 30-60fps all of a sudden.
Same goes for outside, altho not the same extent.
I've disable fullscreen optimalization, tried 500hz on the mouse etc.
The only "almost" playable way for me atm is Freesync with the fps capped at 165, altho it still happens fairly frequent making aiming hard.
And the freesync ofc gives me extra input lag.
With no fps cap on steam + capped via rivatuner the game feels like its at a steady 100 fps.
It's extremly noticable on my 240hz monitor and yeah makes the game feel bad and unplayable.
Honestly the best way to describe it is jagged.
So there must be some sort of frame timing gone wrong here.
Are you running the game with any additional command line arguments? If so, try removing them. I assume you also have the latest AMD drivers, but have you tried rolling them back to see if there's a difference?
I've tried with no commands, no difference.
Been through at least 6 amd drivers since i got the cards, very little difference
Can you try setting a lower FPS rate and see if that makes a difference?
i've tried 120,144,165,170,180 and 189.
Also tried lowering my monitor from 240 to 144hz.
No dice.
Could it be audio related?
It's possible this could be audio-related. Are you using an external mixer or doing anything more advanced with audio?
No, just USB connected Logitech g933
I've now definitly found the issue, it has to 100% be my connection.
It's no where near 100% stable, and this post explained it very well: https://www.pcgamer.com/what-is-microstutter-and-how-do-i-fix-it/
My internet derped out pretty hard today, and the stuttering ingame showed that.
But i think apex is to blame aswell, the servers are really poor.
I can play pretty much anything else with non the same issues so.
Ye thanks
