Shader compilation every single time

I built a new pc, everything is new, everything works, every game looks great and runs great, except apex.

CPU 7800x3d
GPU rx 9070 xt nitro plus
RAM 32GB

Every single time I run apex legends whether it's multiple times a day or after a restart, It has to compile shaders for 10 minutes. It is such a pain that I'm starting to just not want to turn on the game anymore.

My windows copy is from the microsoft website and I'm not running any debloated version. I've tried every possible solution, different drivers, DDU, regedit shader cache at 30, 31 or 32, clearing the shader cache, different windows accounts, I reinstalled windows 11 twice, there is nothing I do that fixes this issue, I am out of ideas and am no longer bothered to figure anything more out.

Why can't the game just run like all the other games? One shader compilation and that's it, why is it I have to spend 10 minutes on the menu compiling shaders every single time.

  • Yes, having the same issue....

    My system is:

CPU 9700x, GPU 9070 XT Gigabyte Gaming OC, 32GB RAM

Might either be Ryzen 9000 CPUs related or much more likely the 9070 XT not being fully compatible with Apex (I in fact mean this the other way around, the 9070 XT is a brilliant card but EA just isn't good at optimising the game at all, especially not if it's new hardware though the 9070 XT isn't exaclty new anymore...)

Originally the 9070/9060 XT drivers would crash during every start of Apex. At least EA has fixed that nonesense. Just the other nonesense remaining now. EA, please fix this!
